The general information and preparatory operations

The general information

In the given chapter the description of the most typical and important procedures of service and engine repair, except for the procedures demanding special skills and tools is resulted, such as – these works it is necessary to charge procedures of major repairs of the engine to experts of car-care centre.

3.0 l V-shaped 6-cylinder 24-klapannye engines 1MZ-FE with four (on two on each number of cylinders), located from above, camshafts are established cross-section in a forward part of the car. Automatic transmission is located at the left.

Inlet and final valves are resulted from camshafts through pushers. Valves are located in directing plugs, запрессованных in a block head, as well as saddles of valves.

Camshafts are located in heads of the block of cylinders and resulted in rotation from a cranked shaft by means of a belt. In each number of cylinders one camshaft puts in action inlet valves, and another – final valves.

The pump of system of cooling is located on the right party of the block of cylinders and resulted by belt ГРМ.

For preparation топливовоздушной the mix is served by electronic system of injection of fuel. Necessary for ignition of a mix the spark is created by noncontrollable system of ignition.

Oil in greasing system moves under pressure with the help роторного the pump. On the pressure head party of the oil pump it is established редукционный the valve which opens at excess of pressure above the established value and allows oil parts to flow down back in the pallet картера. Oil is soaked up from картера through маслозаборник. The pump directs oil in replaceable полнопоточный the filter. At a contamination of the oil filter перепускной the valve directs oil directly to the main channel bypassing the filter.

From the filter oil moves in the main gallery located in the block of cylinders. In the main gallery it is located Д/В pressure of impellent oil which warns the driver about oil pressure decline, including the control lamp located on the panel of devices. From the main gallery oil is brought to radical bearings of a cranked shaft and a head of the block of cylinders.

Oil is brought to шатунным to bearings through internal drillings in a cranked shaft. In a head of the block of cylinders there are two oil galleries, one passes along a shaft of inlet valves, another – along a shaft of final valves. Through these galleries oil is brought to bearings of shaft and pushers of valves.

To bearings of all shaft oil moves under pressure, valves and cams of camshafts are greased with sprayed oil, as well as other internal knots of the engine.

Preparatory operations

Before carrying out of any procedures of service of the engine make cleaning of an impellent compartment and external surfaces of the power unit with application of special solvent. Such processing will allow to avoid hit of a dirt in the engine.

In case of need, forthcoming work defined by character, it is possible to remove a cowl for the purpose of maintenance of freedom of access to components subject to service (see Has undressed Removal and installation of a cowl, its lock and a decorative lattice of a radiator). In order to avoid casual damage of a paint and varnish covering cover car wings with special covers or old blankets.

It is possible to consider the excessive expense of impellent oil as a signal about necessity of carrying out of check of a condition of piston rings, маслоотражательных caps and-or directing plugs of valves. Naturally, first of all, it is necessary to make sure that oil losses are not connected with development of its external leaks. Check up a compression in cylinders (the Section Check компрессионного pressure see) to define the general condition of the engine.

Loss of developed capacity, infringement of stability of turns, excessive noise клапанного the mechanism and the raised expense of fuel usually are characteristic enough signs of necessity of performance of major repairs of the engine, in particular, when all these factors are shown simultaneously. If performance of a full spectrum of options does not help with elimination of problems, carrying out of the general mechanical works on engine restoration will be a unique way out.

Major repairs of the power unit mean restoration of all its working parametres to level, characteristic for the new engine. During major repairs replacement of piston rings and restoration of mirrors of cylinders (проточка and-or хонингование) is without fail made. Replacement radical and шатунных bearings is usually carried out, can be in case of need made проточка and restoration of necks of a cranked shaft. Service of the valves which condition at the moment of occurrence of necessity for performance of major repairs of the engine almost for certain leaves much to be desired is without fail carried out. In parallel with carrying out of the general repair of the power unit regenerative repair of a starter and the generator is usually made also.

Such critical components of system of cooling as hoses, приводные belts, the thermostat and the water pump at carrying out of major repairs of the engine should be replaced with the new without fail. Besides, it is necessary to check up attentively a radiator condition (see the Head of System of cooling of the engine, heating, ventilation and an air conditioning). In case of revealing of signs of development of leaks or infringement of passableness it is necessary to replace a radiator. Do not forget to check up a condition of the oil pump also.

Engine major repairs at all do not demand from the executor of high vocational training, however take away a lot of time. It is necessary to plan refusal of using the car for the term of not less than two weeks, in particular in need of the reference behind the help in a mechanical workshop for the purpose of performance of a separate recovery work.

The most part of works can be executed with application of a usual set of the metalwork tool, however some of checks by definition of suitability of separate components to the further use demand application of the precision measuring equipment. Do not forget that a determinative in a question on expediency of performance of major repairs of the engine is the condition of the block of its cylinders. Often it appears to replace the worn out engine restored more cheaply and more reliably.
